Our biggest news for 2009 is that in December 2008 we started construction on a new building for our hospital. It will be located at 3335 Wrightsville Avenue, which is about a mile down Wrightsville Avenue from our current location, going toward town.

This project has been in Dr. Highsmith's mind for almost 10 years, and it has taken 2 and a half years to get to this point once the land was purchased. If the weather cooperates, no major issues arise, and the stars align correctly, we hope to move into the new building in August or September of 2009.

With the new location and building our clients can be assured that we will continue to offer the best in medical care for our patients.

Keep checking back as we update photos as construction advances.

We are all starting to get excited as we can start to see the layout of the rooms inside and how it will help us coordinate client and pet care.
The receptionists are especiallyt excited about having all the windows for the waiting rooms. What a change!!

Update 6/22/2009. The contractor has been doing a great job and it looks like we will be moving into our new building sometime around the middle of August. The tentative date that we will be opening in the new facility is August 17, 2009. But that of course that can change if some last minute problems come up.

The normal aging process these animals undergo is associated with physiologic changes that may influence the success of an anesthetic event. Some adjustments in anesthetic protocols are often necessary for such elderly patients.
